A home by the coconut grove
i did not have enough,
today i still donot have enough
though
i earn much much more.
i need a home,
i need a 500 sq ft place
that i will decorate with my books,
her bric brac
and our dreams.
unfortunately all homes
by the sea
near coconut groves
are too damn expensive.
so,
i will keep my books in my tin trunk,
her bric bracs collecting dust,
and our dreams in a pickle jar
until i earn enough
to buy a 500 sq ft home
for us
by the sea,
near the coconut grove.

Your poem deliberately teases out the emotions in that fine divide between what you have and what you want. Though short, it made me take the journey through those lists of 'dreams in a pickle jar'.
yes, that bit about books in a tin trunk and dreams in a pickle jar... with all the connotations that come with dust and pickling... nice.
It's "bric-a-brac" you mean, I think?
