A new story...
My secrets
In the folds
Of your white shirt,
And walked away.
Now,
You’ll stand
And watch
My dazzle act
And grin silently, arms
Folded, in the shadows.
You’ll watch
amused
As I distract
Lesser men, with my
Dangly pearl ear-rings.
You’ll see
More of me
When I but raise
An eyebrow, you’ll push
Another mocha smirk my way.
Just admit
Before you touch
Another hidden chord,
You were ravaged too,
And not exactly unwillingly.

Lovely... the way you brought an entire relationship to life with these few words. Really well done.
love the opening lines specially... and 'mocha smirk'... evokes so many images :)
whew..what pictures this creates :))
amazing ..to say the least !!!!
Why on earth should a poem need explanation? Or introduction and background for that matter?
That said, i agree with you, Sunil, that it would be nice to hear what the reader got out of the poem, from the perspective of both a reader and another writer.
Sunil, you are right. Instead of saying wah! wah! wah! or rah! rah! poetry enthusiasts should explain what they like about a poem.
Now, I wonder what that "Now," is doing in the middle?
fabulous...the words and the pictures they paint.
Very classy work, Manisha! Just chanced upon this - am I glad too!
im struck,
i had given up almost for quality writings online.
in one word,sublime.
what do i like abt it? u see the symmetry of the lines reflected on ur consciousness and a emotion conveyed to , all in simplicity.what more can u ask?
